The Practice
Sussex Limb Reconstruction is a specialist orthopaedic service dedicated to the assessment and management of complex limb conditions. Delivered by Mr Alastair Robertson and Mr Enis Guryel, the service provides expert care for patients requiring advanced reconstruction of the upper and lower limbs, including the treatment of deformity, limb length discrepancy, non-union, and post-traumatic complications.
Combining extensive clinical experience with modern surgical techniques, the service adopts a patient-centred, multidisciplinary approach to ensure optimal functional outcomes. Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual, with a focus on restoring mobility, reducing pain, and improving quality of life.
A key strength of the service is its commitment to multidisciplinary team (MDT) working. Patients benefit from coordinated input from a wide range of healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, radiologists, microbiologists and rehabilitation experts. This collaborative approach ensures comprehensive assessment, robust clinical decision-making, and continuity of care throughout the treatment journey.
In addition, Sussex Limb Reconstruction offers the advantage of dual consultant operating, where both Mr Alastair Robertson and Mr Enis Guryel operate together on complex cases. This approach is aligned with the latest BOA/BLRS standards, which recognises the value of consultant-delivered, collaborative operating in complex limb reconstruction. This model enhances patient-care, allows real-time shared decision-making in theatre, and can reduce operative time and complication rates. For patients, this means access to combined expertise and an added level of reassurance when undergoing complex limb reconstruction .
Sussex Limb Reconstruction is dedicated to providing exceptional care through a combination of innovation, surgical excellence, and patient-focused care, guiding patients and supporting them at every stage of their recovery
